Psychiatrist Dr. Dana Deaton Verner is passionate about helping children and families reach their full potentials with a holistic approach.
A native Nashvillian, Dr. Verner graduated from the Harpeth Hall School in 1995 before moving to the Northeast to obtain her undergraduate degree from Princeton University in 1999. After a year in Washington D.C. working in health policy, she returned to Nashville and completed medical school at Vanderbilt University in 2004. Dr. Verner completed General Psychiatry Residency followed by Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Vanderbilt Medical Center. She served as Chief Resident in her final year of fellowship.
Dr. Verner has worked at Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital as a psychiatrist on the Child and Adolescent Inpatient Unit and remains on faculty at Vanderbilt in a teaching role for psychiatry residents in training. In 2013, she was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha, a national medical honor society that recognizes excellence in the field of medicine.
Dr. Verner’s other passions include spending time with her family and being a mom to her four children.
