Rebekah Walker, Therapist

As a contracted provider, Rebekah Walker brings over 25 years experience working with families, couples, and adults.

Rebekah Walker contracts with Nashville Child and Family Wellness Services to provide in–house family, couples and adult counseling for those who are already working with our providers and want to keep all of their services under one roof. Rebekah enjoys helping adults, couples, and families navigate life transitions, grief and loss, personal and spiritual growth, recovery work individually and in the family, crisis intervention and support for positive change in relationships with others and self. She works from a holistic, solution-focused, and strength based orientation to promote balance, healing and positive changes, knowing that the ability to recognize choices can be life changing.

Rebekah earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, concentration in Mental Health, and Masters of Science in Social Work from the University of Tennessee, with a focus in Clinical training and Family therapy. Rebekah was the Counseling Coordinator for 21 years at Oasis Center, Inc., a comprehensive teen service center, where she offered Family counseling, supervised clinical staff, trained graduate and post doctoral interns and was a Nationally Certified Trainer on multiple topics on clinical and substance abuse issues. She led Prevention workshops in high schools and middle schools against drug and alcohol abuse, prevention of suicide and crisis management. As a crisis intervention specialist Rebekah led the Middle Tennessee Suicide and Sudden Death Response Team; training therapists for on call response, and is a Certified Disaster Relief Counselor for the Red Cross. She has had a private practice for adults and families since 2005 and also served two years as a family therapist on the Child and Adolescent Unit at Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital.

Rebekah’s specialties include parenting support/skills, adolescent development, strengthening families by coaching parents on raising responsible teens to responsible adults AND enjoying the relationship with their child.  She enjoys helping adults recognize their strengths, build skills in self-awareness, positive self-talk and communication, and deepening relationship with their partners.
