Kristin Paddon is a licensed clinical social worker who earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Spanish from Wheaton College in Chicago, Illinois, and her Master of Science in Social Work with a concentration in Evidence Based Interpersonal Practice (EBIP), from The University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Kristin completed social work internships in the public school system and provided trauma therapy through a treatment program for children, adolescents, and their families. Kristin is a Nashville native with experience providing individual therapy, group therapy, and crisis intervention in the school setting to children and adolescents who presented with a wide range of emotional and behavioral needs, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, obsessive compulsive disorder, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and social skills development.
At the heart of Kristin’s work is a belief in the inherent value of each person and she hopes that through the therapeutic process each client would come to recognize their worth. Kristin couples this belief with a strong commitment to provide evidence-based interventions to her clients. Kristin utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as elements of Dialectical BehaviorTherapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to teach emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and increase psychological flexibility.
Additionally, Kristin utilizes a strengths-based approach to therapy and strives to practice cultural humility and competence, celebrating her client’s unique differences. Kristin is also bilingual and offers therapy in both English and Spanish.
