Meet Abby Blum, M.A.
Doctoral Practicum Clinician – Vanderbilt University (She/Her)
Abby is a Clinical Psychology doctoral student at Vanderbilt University, where her research focuses on the impact of early experiences and caregiving relationships on child development. At Nashville Child & Family Wellness Center, Abby’s work includes but is not limited to children and teens ages 5 and up who are experiencing anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, and ADHD. In addition, she is currently training in Parent–Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and integrates evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioral and play-based strategies into her work. Abby is especially interested in joining with children and teens while also supporting caregivers in building warm, responsive connections with their children to promote growth and resilience.
Originally from Chicago, Abby earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Creative Writing from Northwestern University before beginning her doctoral studies at Vanderbilt. She practices under the supervision of Liza du Plessis, PsyD., HSP-Licensed Clinical Psychologist.
