Elizabeth Stewart is a licensed professional counselor (LPC-MHSP) working with children, teens, and families. She enjoys helping clients discover their innate strengths while using creativity, compassion, structure, and fun in the therapy space! Elizabeth is the Director of ADHD and Behavioral Disorders at NCFWC and specializes in working with ADHD, anxiety, eating disorders, autism spectrum disorders, OCD, and other behavior problems. She offers individual, family, and group therapy.

Elizabeth is a Tennessee native and has worked in the mental health field for over seven years. She obtained her Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Vanderbilt University after earning her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Tennessee. Elizabeth’s work is informed by her broad clinical experience working in all levels of mental health care–from inpatient hospitalization to residential treatment and partial hospitalization programs. Elizabeth spent several years at Rogers Behavioral Health where she served as Clinical Services Supervisor and Family Therapist. She trained clinicians, oversaw treatment plans, and provided direct services to clients and their families. She has helped create clinical protocols and developed new programs using evidence-based treatment.

At NCFWC, Elizabeth applies a variety of therapeutic modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), family-based treatment (FBT), behavioral activation (BA), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and parent training strategies tailored to meet each client’s unique needs. She is committed to supporting children and teens as they navigate emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges, and is dedicated to fostering positive, lasting change for their families. Elizabeth leads evidence-based social skills groups for teens ages 12 to 17 years-old (PEERS Social Skills Group) and children ages 8 to 11 years-old (Friendship Group). Elizabeth is also pursuing her certification in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), which is an evidence-based treatment for young children, ages 2 to 7 years-old with emotional and behavioral problems.
