Meet Dr. Neely
Clinical Psychologist
Daniel Neely, Ph.D., HSP, is a licensed clinical psychologist. He completed his post-doctoral fellowship with Nashville Child and Family Wellness Center. Dr. Neely completed his pre-doctoral internship in pediatric neuropsychology at the University of Missouri, where he focused on assessment of neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and learning disorders. He earned a M.S. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Auburn University, with a focus on Clinical Child Psychology.
Dr. Neely has provided clinical services in a diverse range of settings, including community mental health clinics, academic medical centers, university clinics, schools, and state-run facilities. Dr. Neely has experience working with interdisciplinary teams to provide integrated, comprehensive services to his clients. This has included speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physicians, educational professionals, and other mental health professionals. He also has experience in the development, implementation, and evaluation of community-based programs and interventions.
Dr. Neely values a collaborative and comprehensive approach to evaluation with his clients and their families. He recognizes the need for clients and their families to feel heard and understood throughout the assessment process, to balance meeting a client’s needs with emphasizing and building upon their strengths, and ensuring that each evaluation adheres to evidence-based standards of care. Dr. Neely provides assessment services to evaluate cognitive, academic, neurodevelopmental, emotional, and behavioral concerns, including: autism, ADHD, specific learning disorders, developmental delays, behavioral and adaptive functioning concerns, and mood and anxiety disorders.
Similarly, Dr. Neely values the need to deliver evidence-based therapy services with warmth, a sense of collaboration, and an appreciation for the life circumstances of his clients. He is experienced in several evidence-based treatment approaches including parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT), cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy (TF-CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), parent behavior management training, and mindfulness-based approaches.
